The European Conference on Cognitive Ergonomics

15 – 18 September 2026 Siena, Italy

Information for Presenters

This page provides practical information for authors presenting a talk or a poster at ECCE 2026.

Presentation Formats and Timing

  • Long papers: 15 minutes presentation + 5 minutes for questions
  • Short and Work-in-Progress (WIP) papers: 10 minutes presentation + 5 minutes for questions
  • Posters: presenters will give a 5-minute blitz presentation (no questions) in a dedicated session before the poster exhibition. This will be followed by a 1-hour exhibition, during which presenters should stand next to their poster to discuss it with attendees.

Session chairs will keep to these timings strictly to ensure the programme runs on schedule, so please prepare your presentation accordingly.

Poster Specifications

  • Orientation: portrait (vertical)
  • Size: 70 x 100 cm

Preparing Your Slides

  • Aspect ratio: both widescreen (16:9) and standard (4:3) are acceptable. Note that the projectors in the session rooms are not widescreen, so a standard (4:3) aspect ratio may display slightly better, though widescreen slides will still display correctly.
  • File format: PPTX is preferred; PDF is also accepted.
  • Template/branding: there is no mandatory template. We would appreciate it if you could include the conference logo on your title slide, but this is optional.
  • Submitting your slides: please bring your presentation on a USB stick to the session room 10–15 minutes before the start of your session. A student volunteer or technician will help you transfer it to the room’s desktop computer, and you will be able to check that your slides display as intended before the session begins.

Technical Setup in the Session Rooms

  • Each session room has a Windows desktop computer with PowerPoint (Office 365) installed, which is the primary way of presenting.
  • If you prefer to use your own laptop, this is possible provided it has an HDMI port. A limited number of USB-C to HDMI adapters may be available, but we recommend bringing your own if you plan to use a USB-C laptop.
  • Presenter view (with speaker notes) is available on the room computer.
  • A clicker will be provided in each session room.
  • Please arrive at your session room at least 5 minutes before the start time to check that the projector and your slides are working correctly with the technician or student volunteer on site.
