ACM research integrity check
ACM has introduced a new state-of-the-art research integrity system to check accepted papers for any integrity problems before publication in the conference proceedings. All accepted papers will be checked for the following:
- AI-generated text (to identify the use of generative AI tools in a paper)
- Over-citation (checks for disproportionate citation of individual authors)
- Tortured phrases (checks for substitution of technical terms to avoid plagiarism detection: e.g. “fluffy reasoning” for “fuzzy logic”)
- Similarity score (plagiarism check)
- Retracted papers in references (checks for this signal of possible papermill activity)
These checks are mandatory for all conferences published in the ACM International Conference Proceedings Series.
